Imagine for a moment that we have a technical support company telephone operators for smartphones they sell. In addition to any company but we are not a company that operates in America, Europe, Australia and South Africa. Obviously, if applicable, would have inside information about which devices are those that break and cause major losses over the phone for hours of company management, free shipping, terminal changes, etc..
Well it is not something we have to imagine because the company exists, is called WDS, and has published a study based on 600,000 telephone inquiries regions mentioned earlier. So what was the outcome of their research? Reuters has published an article with his conclusions phones Android are usually the most broken, and iPhones of the least, only surpassed by the Blackberry. In the attached graph shared by AppleInsider on this study shows the percentage of calls related to hardware problems compared to the total technical call for each of the mobile platform.
Before some throw up this story in the comments we have to clarify that this has nothing to do with Android itself. Not that the OS is bad or anything like that, I would say the opposite. It is rather a direct consequence of the diversification that the platform is subjected. Android has seen an exponential growth of your system to levels unimaginable a few years ago, to the point of setting up more than half the world’s smartphones. But this reign, mounted under the philosophy that is based, also has its downside. There are hundreds of brand manufacturers using Android on its products, and often with little or no quality control, because it is Asian white markings which are then exported to the West. It is true that Google subjected to certain requirements for manufacturers who rely on the platform, but apparently not the most appropriate mobile phones coming to market low cost manufacturing cost less than $ 100 have helped to expand platform but do not meet normal levels of quality parts.
When recently talked about the problem of fragmentation provided a reason why Apple would be justified to maintain a closed platform instead of the politics of Mountain View. Now, the issue of reparations and tear adds to that question, since both RIM and Apple are two brands that are building their own software for bespoke hardware with logical standards of quality.
So if we service the company mentioned at the beginning, what conclusion can we draw? Probably mentioned Tim Deluca-Smith, Vice President of Marketing at WDS:
At the moment Android is a bit like the Wild West.
